The "goal" of the Food Club is to get friends together, try new recipes (or show off old favorites) and have fun!
We ask that you bring one (or two) dishes to share. Dishes should follow the Theme of the Month. They can be something you've tried before or a completely new experiment. No points lost for something that doesn't come out perfectly. Please also bring a copy of the recipe that you make (Harry, that means you, even if you just throw it together off the top of your head). You can email those, or bring them with you to dinner. We'll put the recipes in digital format and they'll be available online for future reference in the Archived Recipes section.
Also, please bring your own tupperware containers to take leftovers home, we don't want all that food sitting at our house.
We'll have soda, beer, wine and cider, but feel free to bring a specific drink for yourself, if you want.
Please RSVP to Heather so we know that you're coming and also what you're cooking. See "What's on Deck" for an updated list of what to look forward to!
We also encourage friends to bring another friend or two, especially other "foodies", just let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. If they're not fun--they'll be banned from attending again--so choose wisely! =)
The Cooking Club that started in January 2007 was officially named "Food Club" after an alcohol-induced brainstorming session late one night... "The first rule of Food Club is - you do not talk about Food Club. The second rule of Food Club is - you DO NOT talk about Food Club. Third rule..."
There were many other possibilities for a name, but imagine how many food stuffs could be carved with the "Food Club" logo, we had to go with it for that potential fun-factor alone. And the Tagline: Mischief. Mayhem. Soup.
P.S. If this section doesn't make sense to you, go rent the movie "Fight Club" with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
Allergy alert: Please refrain from putting RAW onions in any of your dishes. Well-cooked onions are fine.
If you have a specific food allergy or aversion, please let Heather know.
