Baked Brie 10 oz. round of brie 2 sheets of puff pastry egg yolk and 1 tablespoon water Toppings If making sweet: 1/4 cup pecans 1/4 cup walnuts 1/4 cup cranberries 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup caramel sauce If making savory: 1/4 cup pesto 1/2 cup chopped roasted red peppers Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper. Flour surface, unfold sheet of puff pastry and roll out to approximately 1/8 inch thickness. Place brie in center of pastry and trim a large circle (or square) around the cheese. Save pastry scraps to make decorations. Put desired toppings on brie and fold pastry up around cheese. It won't completely cover the top. Place on baking sheet. Roll out second sheet of brie. Cut another circle or square of same approximate size. Place second sheet on top of brie and fold underneath. Cut any decorative pieces out of excess pastry - flowers, vines, etc. Make an egg wash of yolk and water and brush over brie. Then place decorative pieces on top and brush again. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with fruit, crackers, cookies, or breads.
